Reported by Us Magazine, Nicole Richie recently revealed how she and Joel Madden have managed to keep their marriage going for such a long time. The 37-year-old said that she and Joel love to laugh and have a lot of fun together.
Speaking with Us Magazine at the launch of her new product-line, NicoleXCapsuleChix, the reality star said she and Joel have had such a great journey together. According to Nicole, “doing it with somebody else that has the same goals as you is a really fun way to live.”
The television star noted that her 40-year-old husband is very supportive of her goals, as she is to him as well. Fans of the couple know they first started their romance back in December 2006, not long after Joel and Hillary Duff broke up.

The couple had their first daughter, Harlow, who’s 11-year-old, back in 2008, and they had Sparrow in 2009. Joel and Nicole announced they were engaged in February 2010 and she confirmed the rumors on The Late Show With David Letterman.
Regarding how to parent children, the star said to Us Magazine that it’s crucial to teach your kids to be themselves and stand up for what they believe in. Moreover, she and Joel are trying to instill in them a sense of purpose, and a belief to stand up for.
In other news, Richie has become quite the entrepreneur, even partnering up with Moose Toys to create the aforementioned NicoleXCapsuleChix for the Capsule Chix dolls. The star said to Us Magazine that she believes the dolls do a great job of celebrating “individuality,” which is crucial for girls.
Nicole stated that girls don’t need a doll with blonde hair and blue eyes anymore, along with the implication that beauty is supposed to manifest itself with those characteristics specifically.
