Usher had a big weekend. He kicked-ass at the half-time show and got married to his longtime girlfriend, Jennifer “Jenn” Goicoechea. Not bad for a Sunday in Vegas. Speculation began after it was reported that the couple had gotten a marriage license, but when they were spotted wearing all-white outfits and gold bands on their ring fingers, people put two-and-two together. Usher’s publicist eventually confirmed that Usher got married after his performance, in an intimate ceremony at The Fast Lane, a drive-thru tunnel. The small ceremony included Usher’s mom as their witness and his older sons, Usher V, 16, and Naviyd, 15. Jenn and Usher share daughter Sovereign, three, and son Sire, two. As they do, People got the exclusive for their cover story this week and they released pictures of Usher and Jenn on their big day.
In the new photos shared with PEOPLE from the happy day, the star beams at Goicoechea, who is holding a bouquet of red peonies and white roses, which match a red flower affixed to Usher’s lapel.
Ever stylish, Usher is dressed in an abstract, asymmetrical black and white tux, while Goicoechea rocks a chic all-white, off-the-shoulder pants suit with white designer glasses and sparkly nailed cream gloves to match. The pair were later spotted out celebrating in the same looks at a star-studded party sponsored by Rémy Martin.
For the ceremony, the bride has a long, white veil draped over her short black bob, and the sheer material has the words “Mrs. Raymond 02.11.24” in large embroidered writing across the front, as a nod to her taking the star’s last name and their wedding date.
Then in another image, the couple offers a glimpse into the intimate family affair that took place. The pair is shown sitting in the front seat of a vintage convertible car with red and white flowers on the back, as Usher’s teen sons Usher V, 16, and Naviyd, 15, sit in the backseat.
Not pictured is the singer’s mom Jonetta Patton, who served as the couple’s witness. The couple also share little ones Sovereign, 3, and Sire, 2, who do not appear in the photos.
“Listen, when you find someone that you know is a great partner, of course it is an honor and a pleasure to be able to share life with someone who wants to share it with you,” the star tells PEOPLE of Goicoechea in this week’s cover story, “and who loves you for who you are.”
He adds, “I really do feel like I have an amazing partner that I respect.”
“I have an amazing partner that I respect.” is a very sweet quote. Shouldn’t respect be the baseline for any relationship? I’m really happy for Jenn and Usher! From the pictures, the wedding looks like it was fun. I like their outfits, I like the red peonies and white rose arrangement, but most of all I like the pizazz they brought to it. I mean, Usher’s big furry white coat…I expect nothing less! And Jenn’s picture with the “Mrs. Raymond” veil while wearing sunglasses inside at night? She’s serving cool Vegas celeb bride right there. Good for them! I wish them a lifetime of happiness together.
