Real Madrid forward Vinicius Junior has signed a new contract that will keep him at the club until 2027.
The Athletic had reported that improved terms had been agreed and Real have now confirmed his extended stay.
The 23-year-old winger joined Real from Flamengo in 2018 and has since become one of the side’s most important players.

The Brazil international, who was given Cristiano Ronaldo’s legendary No 7 shirt in the summer, had arguably his best season to date last year, scoring 23 goals and providing 21 assists in 55 games for the Spanish side.
He has continued his impressive form this season with three goals and three assists in 10 games this campaign.
Vinicius Jr said in a video shared by Real Madrid: “Hello Madridistas. I am very happy to renew my contract, it is a dream for me. I hope I can continue for many more years here and score many goals and win many titles. Thank you very much for all the love you have always shown me and Hala Madrid!”
Real are expected to soon confirm contract extensions until 2028 for Eder Militao and Rodrygo extensions, as well as for Eduardo Camavinga and Fede Valverde, as The Athletic has reported.

Vinicius is a pillar of the current Real Madrid team in terms of football — and strategy.
His signing is the greatest example of a successful model of an increasingly important aspect of the club’s transfer policy: Florentino Perez believes that it is becoming increasingly difficult to secure big-name signings due to competition from state-backed clubs and the Premier League, so it is necessary to try to get players (think Fede Valverde, Rodrygo, Martin Odegaard, Eduardo Camavinga, Endrick) before their price makes the task difficult or impossible.
Real Madrid, and especially its president, have always had great faith in Vinicius Jr, whose signing was agreed with Flamengo in 2017 ahead of his arrival in Madrid in 2018.
Even the difficult first few years did not change the club’s outlook. The arrival of Carlo Ancelotti was key: in one of their first meetings after returning to Real Madrid, the Italian said how much he believed in Vinicius Jr.

The facts have proved him right and the attacker has reciprocated the coach’s confidence, especially with the goal that sealed a 14th Champions League crown.
Vinicius Jr’s renewal was set in motion at the beginning of 2022, when Real Madrid and his agents agreed to have the final part of the negotiations at the end of the season.
Real Madrid proposed an extension until 2028, but the player preferred 2026 or 2027. In the end, it was 2027. His release clause has rocketed from €350million to €1billion, while his salary has gone from €3.2m net — up to €4m with bonuses — to €10m plus bonuses.
