A boy under the age of 10 has died after a suspected drowning at a house in Adelaide’s northeast suburbs on Monday.

The incident is believed to have occurred in a bathtub at the Banksia Park address, where ambulance crews were called at about 5.50pm.

A South Australia Police spokesperson confirmed officers had also attended the scene with paramedics.

The child’s death had been ruled as “non-suspicious”, the spokesperson said.

A report has been prepared for the coroner.

It comes only three days after a nine-year-old boy drowned at the Waikerie Swimming Centre, about 200km northeast of Adelaide near Loxton.

The boy, yet to be identified, died on Saturday afternoon after he was pulled from the water unconscious, with paramedics unable to revive him.

There were no suspicious circumstances around the incident, police said.

The pool closed for the remainder of Saturday and offered its condolences to the boy’s family.

“Our thoughts are with the family involved as well as the lifeguards, first responders and others present at the time,” a post by management said.
